An utter let-down

Posted 06-Sep-2016
Pros: The views were spectacular
Cons: Interior design. Cleanliness. Definitely needs new carpets.
Hotel is shabby and dirty. Will not stay again. We feel like we have been robbed. Overpriced.

Pros: Cliff top location overlooking Robin Hoods Bay with excellent gardens.
Cons: Parking for motorcycles other than rough hard-core or grass.
Location: Spectacular location as long as you enjoy driving or walking.
Hotel and staff excellent and I'm sure it would have been even better if I had had the forethought of not travelling during the school holidays, my fault.

Nice Hotel great views across the bay

Posted 29-Jul-2016
Pros: Leisure Facilities, Views, Grounds, Quietness
Location: Not a lot nearby but nice if you want just a relaxing Holiday, need transport to go out of Hotel
Great few days relaxing and visiting Whitby and Scarborough and Goathland (Aidensfield) where Heartbeat series was filmed, caught steam train there to Pickering like old times when I was a child.

A relaxing treat

Posted 04-Jul-2016
Pros: -old fashioned charm - politeness of staff - view from dining room - having a little indoor pool
Cons: - bed was too hard
Location: Very isolated, on the cliff. Great for walking
Good price for Friday night. Old fashioned charm (which I hope they don't change) Single room a good size with nice toiletries. Could see th sea when in bed! Only minor complaint was that, although bigger than a single which is good, the bed was a bit hard. Fantastic grounds: lovely gardens and views. Staff young,, polite and good at what they do. Nice little pool. Would love to come back and spend more time there.. Loved it!

Hotel lost booking, was full and manager absent.

Posted 03-Jul-2016
Appalling. Good location dreadfully handled. I booked 2 rooms more than a month ago. They had only put one room into their system. Manager was not on site. Staff refused to call manager back after he told them to send us to Scarborough and we had an alternative solution as they still had other guests not checked in. This means Expedia bookings were discriminated against.

Not worth the money

Very dated rooms filled with cheap flat pack furniture. Grumpy staff. The bar food is quite poor. Overall it simply isn't worth the money

We were evacuated from the building at 8.20 am following a fire alarm, apparently due to someone in the kitchen burning some toast, my wife was in the shower at the time!
