Pros: There is so much to do at this hotel if you have the time, such as playing golf, tennis, table tennis. swimming, or enjoying a time of reflection in the lovely Chapel, however we were unable to do any of these things due to having our dog with us. The hotel is dog friendly and there are 2 lounges opposite reception where you can bring your dog whilst you eat your meal, if you feel that it may not be happy being left in your room. There are also stunning views along the coastline. We will most certainly book another trip here.
Cons: The shower temperature control knob did not work and the TV did not pick up any of the digistal channels due to a connection fault on the digibox. Both were fixed on the day we reported them, however the TV then emited a loud buzz and had a jumpy picture which we reported when we left so hopefully the next guests will benefit. The Hotel is meant to have Wifi but during our 3 day stay neither of our laptops managed to connect to it and only one of our mobile phones managed a connection, however this was slower than dial-up if it chose to work. We had no vodafone signal in the hotel and had to walk about a quarter of a mile from the hotel to be able to send/receive texts or make calls.
Location: Journey on the North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway, Visit to Goathland (Hearbeat TV Location) Visit to Staithes, Whitby, Rosedale & Hutton Le Hole.

An utter let-down

Pros: The views were spectacular
Cons: Interior design. Cleanliness. Definitely needs new carpets.
Hotel is shabby and dirty. Will not stay again. We feel like we have been robbed. Overpriced.

Pros: Cliff top location overlooking Robin Hoods Bay with excellent gardens.
Cons: Parking for motorcycles other than rough hard-core or grass.
Location: Spectacular location as long as you enjoy driving or walking.
Hotel and staff excellent and I'm sure it would have been even better if I had had the forethought of not travelling during the school holidays, my fault.

Rip off Britain!

Very disappointing. We were made to pay up front before we saw our room which we understood as soon as we saw it. You could not see out of any windows. One was frosted - the bathroom. The other was blocked by a fire escape which was used by their facilities guys. So no light got into the room. It is disgusting that they feel that guests should put up with this low standard and be expected to pay a lot of money for it.

Enjoyable and good value. Lovely walks around the hotel and fantastic scenery. On the other hands the wifi was hopeless!

Pros: Leisure Facilities, Views, Grounds, Quietness
Location: Not a lot nearby but nice if you want just a relaxing Holiday, need transport to go out of Hotel
Great few days relaxing and visiting Whitby and Scarborough and Goathland (Aidensfield) where Heartbeat series was filmed, caught steam train there to Pickering like old times when I was a child.

Raven Hall Country House Hotel - Less for More

The staff were fantastic and very professional. The views and location were stunning. The experience was only let down by paying twice the normal rate for a Saturday night stay with the bare minimum of what you would expect; (complimentary water, packet of biscuits each, enough condiments for more than one beverage).
