Parc Le Breos House
10/10 Excellent
"Parc La Breos House is a Victorian (mostly) pleasure. Our room (6) was a good size. The view was over the farm buildings which aren't the most picturesque, but it is nice to see a working farm. It did mean the farm vehicles started up about 7am, but that is to be expected! The grounds are beautiful and very well kept by the brothers who live there. The lounge has gorgeous paneling and a spectacular fireplace that was brought from Italy with Seville tile inset. It would be a wonderfully cozy place in winter. The winding drive takes some careful navigating as it is rather long and single track with only a few passing places.
The breakfasts were plentiful and a good choice, from full Welsh to Eggs Royale or waffles. The dinners were frankly better than we expected. We ate there two of the three nights we stayed and everything was very good. We especially liked the popcorn cockles! The prices were very reasonable. The wine list was short, but varied enough to find something to suit.
The only tiny flaw was a cheap toilet seat that was loose. The rest of the bathroom is very well fitted out, so that was a minor niggle. There is no air conditioning, but luckily we brought our own fan and were comfortable even though it was fairly warm.
The Gower Heritage Centre at the crossroads to the hotel is a very interesting place to visit with a working water mill. Shepard's Store is also worth a visit.
If we are in the area, we would definitely stay here again. "
Number 27 - family and dog friendly property with cliff walks and sandy beaches
10/10 Excellent
"This is a pleasant, quiet, well equipped house just a couple of minutes’ walk from the cliffs and beaches of south Gower: a delightful end-of-the-road spot in an especially beautiful part of the UK. "
"A great location for exploring the glorious Gower and such a lovely place to stay for us and our two dogs. Three Cliffs Bay is a short ramble away as is Parc le Breos, both of which our dogs enjoyed to the max. The property is lovely and clean and was just right for us to relax away the evenings. Nothing was too much trouble for the owners and it was great to meet them in person. Parking was on the doorstep as was EV charging; something that made life so much simpler. Shepherd's shop and cafe is just next door as is the Gower Heritage Centre. We'll be back!"
"Fantastic location within walking distance to Three Cliffs Bay along a beautiful scenic route pass Pennard Castle. The cottage itself was very clean well equipped with all the essentials. Beds comfy - slept like a log would definitely book again - thank you"
