"Never stay here in the summer! A lovely hotel with a great spa but sadly the staff were not interested. Our room (6) was boiling hot, far hotter than 2 other hotel rooms we have slept in over this May 26 heatwave. When we raised this at check in and explained that we would not be able to sleep in the room we were given a spare fan that simply moved the hot are around. The whole upper corridor of the hotel is oppressive and our room was swealtering all night. No one checked on us or offered to help and when we handed in our key this morning no one bothered to ask if we’d had a good stay. Sadly we won’t be back."

"Hotel is in great location, unfortunately the spa was out of use and we didn’t realise until after we had booked room. Breakfast is only continental, full breakfast no longer included, so room price is expensive. Staff hassle for payment for breakfast as soon as you ordered breakfast instead of asking you at check in and adding it to your billl, felt more like a budget hotel, paying premium prices."

"Really enjoyable stay. Hotel is a little dated but very comfortable, clean and well maintained. Restaurant was excellent for dinner and breakfast. Will definitely stay again."

"Lovely beer garden, good pub food and great breakfast. Staff was very nice. We stayed in their cheapest room and it needs a refurb. You can see the property was refurbished few years ago but it now needs some work and paint."

"We really enjoyed our stay , the little things let it down we felt were , Not enough staff Breakfast , very small portion, and quality of sausage and bacon But we would stay again , views fabulous, location fabulous, and lovely room ."

"The hotel has a great location and the room was clean and well serviced, but the building itself was in poor condition and our room on the second floor was like an oven. No aircon, a weak noisy fan and a window with limited opening. There was an outdoor pool but this was not open despite it being the hottest ever day in May (according to the website, it is open from June to September). Restaurant was 'fully booked' for the evening of our arrival, despite there being a number of apparently free tables, so we ate out both evenings. Breakfast was expensive at £20 per head, so we had that out too (there are a couple of very nice coffee shops in Burley village serving an excellent breakfast at less than half the price). Bar had a poor selection of drinks. Overall, something of a disappointment."
