"The property itself was a little run down - although quite charming because it is an historical building, but the rooms, bathrooms and kitchen facilities were spotless. My room was very small but perfectly comfortable. the staff on the desk spoke adequate English (I speak no Spanish, to my shame) and were always friendly and helpful. All in all, t was definitely value for money, and I would be happy to stay there again. The only problem was that some of the residents were a bit noisy at night and left the bathrooms with very wet floors - not at all necessary if one takes a little care! But this is hardly the hotel's fault."

"Definitely an amazing place to stay in the heart of Madrid! The apartment was beautiful, exceptionally clean, comfortable, and surprisingly spacious. It’s not easy to find accommodations with this much space and comfort right in the center of the city. The location was perfect for exploring Madrid, and the apartment made our stay even more enjoyable. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a beautiful, comfortable, and convenient place to stay. Definitely a place I would come back to!"

"The lower rooms are not reached by an elevator but a series of confusing & treacherous staircases. Do not pack anything more than a knapsack if you’re in the “000” rooms. I’m 66 and struggled to get my luggage to my room but I saw 20 & 30somethings struggling as well! Very few amenities but I don’t care about that as others do. The staff were phenomenal & and very helpful. I like that. But there was no one who could help me with my luggage. Excellent location. If you get an above ground floor room there is an elevator."

"I had a really great stay at Hostal Abadía. The entire place was very clean, and the bathroom in particular was immaculate. My room was basic, but honestly much better than I expected for a hostal, and it had everything I needed. I had an interior room facing the internal patio, so it was very quiet and I had no street noise at all. The location was also excellent — very central, with metro and bus stops just down the street, a grocery store nearby, and plenty of restaurants and things to do within walking distance. I arrived after midnight one night after a concert and still felt very safe walking back. Breakfast was included and had plenty of options, which was a nice surprise. One thing to keep in mind for anyone with mobility issues is that there are about three steps at the entrance and then another three steps before reaching the elevator. I originally chose this hostal because hotels in Madrid were extremely expensive during the Shakira concert weekend, but I ended up being very impressed. It was comfortable, clean, convenient, and a great value. It actually made me want to explore more hostales in the future."
