Walking distance to lots of restaurants and shops, and very near the start of the walking trail that goes from Stonehaven to the war memorial and Dunnottar Castle. "Beautiful place. We loved the fact that it's 799 years old, thinking about all the people that have come and gone before us enjoying the same space. Pretty grounds right on the river Dee. "The grounds and the staff were great. The bed was super comfortable and the room appeared to be as well. That is, until it I learned that there was no aircon and they did not have fans. This left me with the option to open the windows the tiny bit they can be opened to cool the room. Unfortunately, this meant a million bugs since there is no netting on the windows. I ultimately had to close the windows, kill as many bugs as I could, and then spend the night alternating between slapping bugs...
