Standard no place near as good as previous Leonardo hotels I've stayed in but initially fine for 1 night. Room and shower room especially need a deep clean. Receptionist needs customer service training. Woken at 0625 by fire alarms. Evacuated with other guests to meeting point past kitchen staff outside casually having a cigarette. Saw guests in dining room not evacuating. No staff at meeting point. Went in to reception to be told it was a false alarm and to return to our room. Suggested to receptionist that there should have been staff to coordinate guests who were outside. Her response was that she would if she had staff and that she had had to go and check to see if there was a fire. She told a male staff member to go outside and tell other guests to return to their rooms. Her staffing problems are not your guests problem. Surely there is a practiced and legal evacuation procedure to follow. Assume false alarms are not unusual in this property but guests deserve to be treated with respect and not an afterthought especially under such circumstances. Shudder to think what could have happened if there was a fire. Ironically had to wait to speak to receptionist as she was making a wake up call!
