As a student at the nearby University its perfect for me and better than renting the student accommodation in the area. Clean room, own bathroom and tea making facilities. All I need for staying occasionally overnight. I can confirm as other reviews have mentioned, there is an odour of weed in the lift, but the room is fresh. Seriously... its my first time seeing a hotel in this condition.... i was shocked to say the least. Ive never seen a hotel that didnt clean its hallways and stairs, rubbish everywhere, random things left in corridors like someones walker, bags of rubbish, wrappers... bits of fabric, food... like wth 😅 definitly not cleaned for a long time. However.... the staff were friendly on the front desk. This should be removed and more explanation that it is not holiday inn. The room was clean and the staff friendly. We had chicken tikka meal. 4 bits of chicken in a what tasted like a jar of tasteless sauce and tiny nan bread. It took 1 hour and a lot of microwave sounds. Didn’t have breakfast. Smell of weed in the corridor. Kettle in the room but no tea or coffee provided even from reception I could not recommend this hotel. There was no chair in the room to sit at the table so i pulled the sofa forward and there was quite a bit of mess underneath it, so not the cleanest. The matress was bit more comfortable this time because they layed matress topper down, so it didn't feel springy this time. The hair dryer was broken and was giving off a burning smell. I left a piece of clothing behind but staff have not seen it, they said they'd let me know if it turns up. A few reminders. You have to pay for parking. Unfortunately you have to pay for parking. Matress wasnt that comfortable you could feel the springs. There was no kettle in room when i arrived so i had to ask the service desk for one. There's not much point in asking for the kettle because there is no tea, coffee or milk given. Just a kettle an 2 empty cups. The shower head holder was broken so you had to hold the shower head by hand. Overall accommodation was good .sadly was a bit disappointed that there was NO BAR facilities , Breakfast was also disappointed food was cold as all lids where open leaving the breakfast to be cold and not edible, When entering the dining room there was none there, i had to go to the corner and shout for the chef who came out and we asked him for fresh food, the only thing he brought out was some fresh sausages and 3 fried eggs. Budget friendly, very clean, tidy and typical size, amenities, fresh towels, ensuite, etc. Room was good, although I couldn't get the air con to work. I did have a little USB travel fan - so no big deal. Very comfy room and the blackout curtains allowed me to sleep in till 9am despite sunrise about 4am! The vegetarian breakfast is a bit limited considering the cost is the same as the non-veg. Was close proximity to Aberdeen centre. £10 parking is expensive, when there's a park and ride you can use for free within 3-5 minutes walk. This probably explains why the hotel car park was almost empty. I think if it was £2-£3 per night, most customers would park here for the convenience. Unfortunately our mattress was paper thin, only one pillow each that was very flat. Our tv didnt work at all. We contacted reception who gave us extra pillows and made it so we could watch netflix on our own account. The hotel is dog friendly so it was lovely too see all the dogs. No vending machine or coffee machines etc. However there is a kettle and tea/coffee in the rooms. We were told there was a mcdonalds 5 mins away. Loads of parking too. Reception were friendly but you can only exit thru reception you have to enter from the lower floor. Im led to believe its new ownership so they will probably need a bit of time to get things fully up to spec.
