Lovely guest house in a great location within Exmoor. Local pub with good food for an evening meal a walkable distance away. Very friendly hosts always willing to help. Breakfast was cooked superbly with great options.

Lovely accommodation great service. Penny and Simon were friendly and offered a very professional service. Fabulous Full English breakfast traditional or Vegetarian offered all locally sourced and beautiful. e had a very comfortable well maintained room with lovely en suite bathroom. Comfortable bed and beautifully decoratedroom and hotel. To arrive to lovely cake in our room was a nice touch at the end of a long car journey. A true find on the internet with a beautiful setting and gardens in a well maintained historical hotel. Could not recommend it highly enough would love to returm if back in West Country.

Excellent choice
This was an excellent choice for our two day stay in Exmoor. The property is not only situated in an easy to reach beautiful area, it’s a fabulous property throughout and is spotlessly clean. The breakfasts were truly magnificent and the homemade cake in the room was very much appreciated together with the bottled water, tea and coffee. I would definitely recommend Edgcott House to friends and family.

This property definitely warrants its high ranking. Would be hard to find fault. Owners very welcoming, room and bathroom spotlessly clean and attention to detail superb. Plenty of space in bedroom and bathroom and comfy bed. Homemade cherry cake with our tea/coffee facilities on arrival. House has a lovely feel to it. Breakfast room delightful and extent of breakfast menu amazing. (Poached Somerset greengages !! with yoghurt unusual and glorious). In addition to all of this the gardens are beautiful. Shame we were only staying one night. What a find!

Beautifully restored with lots if little touches that made your stay extra special. Very friendly hosts i cannot recommend this B&B highly enough the breakfast was delicious

Lovely Delicious country house in heart of Exmoor
Wonderful country house in the heart of Exmoor National Park. A charming character home with beautiful English garden in the quiet countryside near village of Exford. The generous breakfasts were gourmet, served in style in a lovely main room facing the garden. Tastefully furnished, scrupulously clean, welcoming hospitality, excellent advice for local hiking and touring. A wonderful stay!

A beautiful house situated in a lovely village. We had a lovely room that was sparklingly clean and peaceful. Fantastic breakfast served to perfection. We’d stay again!

Beautiful old house, comfy bed and a comfy sofa bed for our son - we stayed one night (in room 1) on the way home from a trip to Exmoor zoo, going via Dunster castle the next day. Local pub (the Crown) good for food but take a torch! Our son loved seeing what dark is really like when we turned off the torches on the cloudy walk back! Breakfast was amazing and set us up fir the day. Pity we weren't there longer.

Cozy quaint cottage stay
We had a lovely stay here! Quaint and cozy but pristinely clean with an updated feel. The bedroom was small but comfortable, with strong wifi and the bathroom had a big tub, which was great for a hot relaxing bath (thoroughly enjoyed that!!!) and the shower was nice too. The breakfast was perfect - lots of cereals, yogurt, juices, tea/coffee, a basket full of toast per couple and a long list of menu options for your made to order meal that looked like they came from a gourmet magazine. Even though the home is older and all rooms were booked we didn’t hear a peep from anyone or anything all night, which you definitely don’t get in the modern chain hotels. the area is quiet but there are a couple of restaurants in town. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone looking for a place in the area!

Edgcott House was the loveliest B&B in which we have stayed. The grounds are beautiful, the food incredible, and it is near so many scenic walks. We did have a bit of trouble finding the place. (Sat Nav had issues navigating us there from Minehead direction. Best to follow the directions that the owners give from the south.) We hope to stay here again on a return trip to the U.K.

Comfortable quiet spot just outside Exford
I was in the area gathering data for my PhD, so needed a place to stay for the night. Knowing that Exford is a lovely spot right in the middle of the national park, I chose that as a base. Edgcott House is set a little way outside the main village of Exford, but still close enough that you could walk down to the shop if needed. I didn't see a huge amount of the grounds of the hotel, as I only really slept there and ate breakfast, however what I did see looked lovey and well kept. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a large bathroom and plenty of towels (always important!). Wifi access was also very good, and the addition of cake being included in the refreshments in the room was very welcome! The breakfast was delicious, and prepared fresh, with a made-to-order hot food menu. One note - all the guests eat around one large table. I didn't mind this at all, but it might be something that those who prefer to sit alone quietly and slowly wake up over breakfast might want to bear in mind! That said, I met a lovely group of retired dairy farmers from Hampshire. The owner is very friendly, and takes care to get to know his guests. Overall, I would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Last minute booking (24hrs prior to stay) and lucked upon Edgcott House. A very impressive house set in beautiful grounds. Lovely greeting upon arrival , welcoming the entire family including our 3yr old. The room was a perfect size for 2 adults and a child....with the addition of home backed biscuits provided with the tea and coffees. The morning did not disappoint with the largest menu/offering I've ever seen in a B&B/Hotel. Every breakfast option available all freshly cooked from home sourced and homemade ingredients. The 'Full English' was great. In all, great! The previous reviews I read prior to booking in regards to the breakfast was truly justified!

Very nice Bed and Breakfast
Located in the heart of Exmoor, convenient to see all that Exmoor has to offer and the surrounding area. Bed and room were comfortable and there was everything you needed. Our room, 6, was a lovely bright room, well decorated, spotlessly clean and with a good shower room en suite. It did not have a view from the window but that did not concern us. The breakfast, differing each day was really excellent. Very good choices and served beautifully, excellent Tea and Coffee. The wonderful Drawing room was available to relax in.

Beautiful house on the edge of a village
This is our 5th visit to Edgcott house. It has a beautiful peaceful and calm atmosphere. The long room is wonderful to sit and relax in reading a book in front of the log burner. The bedrooms have fluffy white towels and organic products in the bathroom. Nothing has been overlooked. Everyday you come back to a piece of homemade cake and fresh milk supplied on the drinks tray in your room. The breakfasts are truly the best ever with homemade bread, granola and jams. The menu changes daily and the choices are innovative and delicious. Penny and Simon are the most friendly hosts and can't wait to go back again.

Everything in the guest house was lovely, food, owners and room. We were however, disappointed in the lack of draw space(1 tea-shirt would fill the draw and somewhere to put our cases. We had to keep them in the bathroom. We stayed in room 7. We did enjoy our stay it's a lovely part of the country and I would recommend the guest house to my friends.

One night was not enough. This is a really special, place, which we will be returning to, as soon as possible. The breakfast was fantastic. The room was excellent and the service friendly and very helpful. Set in a quiet position, within lovely gardens, yet within easy walking distance of Exford.
