The hotel is good for a place to sleep and rest for the night if you want to be in the shopping area in Central London.

good Location

Posted 02-Jul-2017
Pros: It's location, the dining room and food, the staff
Cons: improve water pressure to shower, change shower head, re-site toilet, re-site safe. PROVIDE SKIMMED MILK
Location: we wanted to be close to London Palladium Theatre and we were able to walk to it, close to Carnaby Street, Oxford Circus and Regents Park
Hotel was in brilliant location for us, walking distance of London Palladium and Carnaby Street. Room was small, Due to the daft position of the safe my dresses were creased at the bottom. I couldn't have hung an evening gown if I'd taken one. The bathroom in room 692 is rubbish, no pressure to the shower head, shower head itself pathetic, no handrail to climb over side of bath (I am disabled and requested a walk i shower- didn't get it). And going to the loo BEWARE if you open the door too quickly it bounces and smacks you in the face as the loo is behind the door and the door hits the loo when you open it!!!! Breakfast very good apart from not having skimmed milk, evening dinner in the restaurant good. Would I choose this hotel again probably not it is also very expensive for a holiday inn.

Good Location for Shopping and Transport

Posted 29-Apr-2017
Pros: Location
Cons: Décor needed updating in the rooms - the rooms, specifically the bathrooms needed updating/renewing
Location: Central location, lots of shops, restaurants and attractions within easy walking distance
Hotel in an excellent location, just off of Oxford Street. Hotel itself is comfortable but tired and in need of updating and some TLC. The room had limited facilities and there were things broken that had not been mended or replaced ie hooks on back of door missing and the shower did not work as something had been broken off and not replaced. The fridge had been taken out leaving a gaping hole. Breakfast was good but there seemed to be a shortage of staff so things were not getting replenished until we asked for them and the self serving area was in the same area as the kitchen so staff were unable to get in and out easily with dirty dishes etc. On the whole, I would stay there again purely for location but would see what other hotels had vacancies first.

One side of the hotel is far too noisy.

Posted 03-Apr-2017
Pros: Not much!
Cons: The decor and some soundproofing in the most affected rooms or the noise.
The first night we were given room 79 and it sounded like a Boeing 747 was taking off every five minutes. I've stayed in many a London hotel and to see ear defenders provided by the hotel is just absurd and without any notes online to inform you that the hotel is noisy. The room was worse than shabby, scruffy curtains, random streaks of paint on the walls, chipped wood all over the wardrobes, I could go on, it summary it wasn't what I'd expect from a Holiday Inn. After complaining we were moved for the second night to room 377 and it was completely different. Quiet, good condition in the room etc etc.

Everything about our stay was excellent apart from we were on the ground floor and could hear the underground trains go past. We were supplied with earplugs if we required them, but it would have been nice to know of this before we booked as we would have made sure we had a room above the ground floor. The noise wasn't excessive as it sounded like an air conditioning unit on the outside of the wall, and you could only hear it if the room was silent. I wouldn't want to put people off this hotel, it's just a nice heads up for anyone making a booking. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and we would book again.
