First morning at breakfast it was a little disappointing, we went down at 9am and the buffet was basically gone! We went down earlier the next couple of days and it was so much better. Room was perfect, and the area was great.

Very nice comfortable hotel with really friendly helpful staff. Good food and clean facilities. Close to the really pretty Charlestown harbour and some excellent restaurants close by for a change.

Absolutely beautiful hotel in the old jail, so many of the original features with a modern feel. Breakfast was incredible, best eggs Benedict I’ve ever had and the continental selection was amazing.

The room was immaculate, comfortable, and very well presented. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help. A great small hotel with a personal touch, and I would happily stay here again.

Just like the other reviews, we had a lovely weekend in a lovely hotel, with great views and fantastic staff who couldn't do enough to make your stay enjoyable. Reserve parking is a must! The food was great and they even accomodated our daughter with a lovely kids menu. We had an inland room (no view) but still a great room and had plenty of time to enjoy view from restaurant and bar during our stay. We will definitely be returning soon@

The hotel was comfortable and clean, the parking was perfect. The staff were extremely helpful and chatty they went out of their way to make your stay as pleasant as possible.
The on-site restaurant was lovely, the food was excellent.
Location was ideal, near to all the attractions. We found the local pub next door’s very friendly.

Had a very large room - king bed and sofa, chairs, plenty of drawer space and a nice bathroom. Good variety of drinks available in the room. Food was very good, all home cooked. Replacement of toiletries was a slight problem but new staff were employed in this area during our stay and everything was fine after that. The proprietors we very welcoming and kind, nothing too much trouble, as were the evening restaurant staff. Very good experience.

The best area to stay in Luxulyan is within the village itself or in the immediate surrounding countryside for convenient access to the Luxulyan Valley.
The village of Luxulyan is a small, quiet community in rural Cornwall. It's well-known for its proximity to the Luxulyan Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage site, which features historical industrial heritage, including the Treffry Viaduct and the Carmears Inclined Plane. The village has a local shop and a pub, providing essential amenities.
Couples looking for a tranquil escape will find the areas just outside the village, located in the countryside, particularly appealing. Many accommodations here offer views of the rolling Cornish landscape and provide easy access to walking and cycling trails within the Luxulyan Valley.
When is the best time to go to Luxulyan?
The best time to go to Luxulyan is during the late spring and summer months, from May to September, when the weather is generally at its finest and the full beauty of Cornwall is on display.
These months offer the warmest temperatures and the most sunshine, making it ideal for exploring the Luxulyan Valley and enjoying outdoor activities. You'll find longer daylight hours, great for leisurely walks, visiting the local attractions, and experiencing the Cornish coast without the chill of winter.
For those who enjoy a slightly quieter experience but still appreciate good weather, May, early June, and September are excellent choices. The main summer crowds of July and August have either not yet arrived or have begun to dissipate, and you can often find better availability for accommodation and activities.
