A river flowing through a grassy landscape with moss-covered rocks and a distant hill.

Romantic Rural Retreat, Ideal Base to Explore Cornwall

Romantic Rural Retreat, Ideal Base to Explore Cornwall

10/10 Excellent
"We had a lovely stay, everything was provided and very clean and comfortable. There were nice added touches such as a welcome cream tea on arrival, DVD's, books and games, aswell as food for feeding the farm animals. It was very quiet and rural, but not too far from centres for shops and services. There is an EV charger also which was very convenient. Friendly hosts who were available on site for any issues. Overall, very satisfied, thank you!"

Wonderful family house in historic Cornish village by Port Isaac, Padstow & Rock

Wonderful family house in historic Cornish village by Port Isaac, Padstow & Rock

8/10 Good
"We had an absolutely lovely time here. Good base to travel out from. Only one local pub which served very good food with large portions, shame there wasn't a local shop but not the end of the world. Oh we did have a power cut one day which lasted about 3 hours, but thankfully it was still light. Apparently this is very rare.Everything was very good, but would have preferred better parking optionsThe house was fab, well proportioned, bedrooms nice and spacious. We would recommend this house to other travellers"

Keepers Cottage - sleeps 2 adults, 2 children and your dogs

Keepers Cottage - sleeps 2 adults, 2 children and your dogs

8/10 Good
"Keepers cottage is a gorgeous little 2 bedroom semidetached, surrounded by a farm. We stayed for 3 nights and it was myself, my daughter and our pooch. It was pet friendly for our dog but I imagine it would be too difficult for an old dog as the wooden stairs are quite steep. There is an exercise area for dogs and a poo bin. Expect noise morning and evening from the working farm. The noise didn’t trouble us at all. We didn’t get to meet the farm animals as they were off limits due to it being a working farm. The bed was very comfortable and clean and we both had good nights sleep. The kitchen was well equipped. The bathroom is a wetroom and is small but perfect for our party of 2.The location of the cottage was excellent between the North and South coasts of Cornwall about a 30 minute drive to both. We enjoyed a walk from Rock to Polzeath and back and another walk down the River Fowey from Lanhydrock. We also enjoyed a meal at The Old Inn at St Breward which we have visited before. It’s the highest pub in Cornwall. We enjoyed the little shops of Wadebridge on a rainy day. The games in the cottage were great for entertainment in the evenings. The WiFi was excellent inside the cottage. We couldn’t make use of the balcony- rain!John was excellent at communicating before and during our stay and was very helpful at answering all my many questions! All in all we had a lovely short break. Thank you John! (We didn’t meet John or any other people living on the farm)"
