Wonderful hotel in an excellent location
We were passing through London on our way home and had one day/night to enjoy the city. I always look for hotels with boutique qualities of amenities, historic buildings, a sense of uniqueness and a bit of quirkiness. Threadneedles met my requirements.
The room was great...queen bed, nicely laid out. Lots of extras. Reviews I had read about the size being small...I don't get that. It was fine for two people. The only thing was we did not have a view, but I knew that going in. I don't take off marks for that in this case, as I was not promised a view.
The bathroom put the room review into the 5+ stars range. Huge, well designed, separate shower, towel heating bars. My only complaint is inadequate light directly over the sink.
The reception area and lobby were decorated for the holidays, and very comfortable. The staff on check in and check out were friendly and helpful with recommendations, arranging for taxis, checking our bags...a delight. We had breakfast in the restaurant and it was delicious...again the staff were wonderful.
The location of the hotel in the financial district was perfect for sightseeing...Tower, London Bridge, St. Paul's, the Guild, all within easy walks.
