Pros: The ambiance and decor is absolutely first rate.
Location: The location is superb for all the great theater, all the great museums and most of the great shopping in London.
This hotel has the unique characteristic of feeling more like a lived in home than a hotel.

Believe the Hype

Posted 18-May-2017
Pros: everything
Cons: nothing
Location: everything on the west end within walking distance.
I just returned from a trip to London and Rome where I stayed in five different hotels, three of which were 5 Star. They Haymaker takes the cake for me. We stayed at the 41 for one night which is the top rated hotel in London according to Trip Advisor but I have the Haymaker edging it out for various reasons. The location of the hotel, right off Trafalgar Square is perfect for anything you want to do on the West End of town. The hotel itself is lovely with attention to detail and just the right amount of decor. Our room was just the sweetest thing with a tufted bed and a subtle palette of colors and designs. We were given so many gifts during our stay for being Expedia Gold members: a bottle of champagne and olives, a room spray from their Kit Kemp brand and a tube of hand lotion from the same brand. I have never been showered with gifts like this before! Our breakfast was included and we could pick from ANYTHING on the menu in the adjoining restaurant. WHAT?! From top to bottom, simply a beautiful and beautifully run hotel. WILL BE BACK!

Great hotel very centrally located in London

Posted 15-Apr-2017
Pros: The central location of hotel is great. Room spacious and lovely. Staff were friendly and helpful. Central but quiet location.
Cons: Nothing
Location: Centrally located in London, next to National Gallery. Theatre, art galleries, museums, restaurants etc. are all very close, as is St. James Park.
Wonderful Hotel. Lovely and spacious room, which was very quiet for Central London. Staff friendly and helpful. Great location for theatres, art galleries etc.

Lovely decor. Everything was fresh and clean. Had a very nice bathroom. One concern the floor of the shower was slippery when wet! Staff was very helpful. The location was great for sightseeing, restaurants and bars. Easy access to the Underground. Very walkable location.

My go-to hotel in London

Just love this place. Great location, great facilities. The only problem I had once was noise from the bar when I stayed at a ground level room (not sure it exists anymore). A bit expensive, but definitely worth it.

Excellent location! Amazing staff!

I LOVED this hotel; and as I travel a lot, I can be really picky. It's a beautiful boutique hotel with tons of charm and character. The common areas and guest rooms are artistically decorated, and each is unique and distinctive. The linens are luxurious and the shower was heaven. The hotel is two blocks from Trafalgar Square in one direction and five blocks from Piccadilly Circus and the West End theaters in the other, with several nearby Underground stations. I was traveling with my 10 year old, and she loved the pool. I enjoyed the fact that I could have a drink and some amazing appetizers poolside. The staff was truly outstanding. They out of their way to find out what we wanted to do and ask how they could help. There were handwritten notes with gourmet sweets left in our room almost every night and the concierge managed to snag us a very last-minute dinner reservation at an amazing restaurant before we went to see a show. I really can't say enough positive things about this hotel!
