Great staff, great location
The hotel is perfectly situated to enjoy the attractions of London but in a peaceful, quiet area across the street from the St. James tube station, one stop from Westminster. The staff were exceptionally accommodating. When my husband fell ill near midnight on a weekend, the hotel staff immediately offered to send someone to the only open pharmacy at that hour. The bellboy returned more quickly than we could have expected and all we were charged for was the taxi fare and medication. When I developed a pain in my back, they arranged for a physical therapist to come to our room in less than an hour on a Sunday morning. At each turn, the staff were cheerful and friendly. Each individual seemed genuinely to want our stay to be as lovely as possible. On the one occasion when there was a delay in bringing us ice, they sent fruit and cookies to apologize. As for the amenities and room features, the room and especially the bathroom were spacious by London standards and the lobby has amusing sculptures. We have stayed many times in London and paid a great deal more but this was by far our best experience.
