"On arrival staff at desk friendly and helpful. Food in restaurant was excellent as was our cocktails. Restaurant staff were very accommodating. Good quality breakfast on both days. We were happy with our room (16) although there was motorway noise they had excellent double glazing. One negative was noise from upstairs bedroom. We were kept awake until five in the morning! Someone seemed to be walking round, maybe they couldn’t sleep ( it was hot) When I reported this to reception next day the young lady told us there was nothing she could do. As there were no other rooms available to swap. A small gesture of maybe food or drink credit would have been nice, as the noise did spoil our first night. Nothing was offered."

"Compared to other Days Inn we have stayed at room was tired and corridors loud and grimy. Room was clean enough but shower control was broken and water stains on wall and floor. No security on main door so anyone could walk in which didn’t feel very safe,especially at a services. Overall disappointed for what we paid."

The bed and pillows were really comfy and the room was surprisingly quiet considering the hotel is next to the motorway. We had a lovely warm welcome and it was so handy for Gretna and access to Scotland. We'd stay again any time."

"I had a very positive experience at this hotel and would definitely recommend it. The check-in process was fast and efficient, which was greatly appreciated after a long day of traveling. The room was impeccably clean and surprisingly spacious, offering plenty of room to relax comfortably. Every staff member I encountered was friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout my stay. The complimentary breakfast was decent, nothing extraordinary, but it had a good selection and served as a solid, convenient start to the day. Overall, it was a hassle-free, comfortable stay with excellent service. I would certainly consider staying here again!"

"A lovely family stop-over whilst driving through. The host was very helpful and welcoming and friendly and pointed us in the direction for evening food. Car parking is aplenty and on the roadside. The bed (we had the family room) was extremely comfortable and we all slept well. Breakfast in the morning was lovely too."

"We had a nice overnight stay. The room was clean with plenty of room. The bathroom was big with a good shower. We both enjoyed the evening meal in the bar area, nice food good portions and nice staff. There were two weddings being held so the restaurant was closed, which was fine for us but other guests might have enjoyed a meal in the restaurant. The only thing we felt that could be improved was the breakfast. It would have been nice to have some pastries, some fruit and fibre as another cereal choice and also muesli. I also feel that the quality of the bread could be improved. Overall, the stay was good."

"The hotel is in fairly large estate surrounded by fields and just off the A75 a few miles east of Dumfries. It is an imposing building. We found the decor bland and beige in the reception area and also the room. The bedroom is well laid out with a modern bathroom. However the position of the TV on the wall made it impossible to fully see the screen while lying in bed. The bathroom had an over the bath shower which is not accessible to oldies like us. Also no grab rails on the walls beside the shower making it even more difficult for us to use. Tried to get a change to a room with a walk in shower but no luck. Better to book room with one in advance. The staff were all very friendly, helpful and attentive. Meals generally good, but sometimes coffee or tea not warm enough and breakfast items like bacon not crispy enough for our liking. We would probably return but making sure we booked a room with a walk in shower."
