Gorgeous - will be returning.

Posted 21-Apr-2017
Had a wonderful weekend stay here with my partner. The room was wonderful (although too hot at night due to heated towel rail staying on - had we stayed for more nights I'm sure we could have had it switched off) and the bed was so comfortable. The pool and sauna were great and not busy at all, and our treatments by Stephanie (facial and hot stone massages) were amazing and good value. The only let down for me was a lack of choice of vegetarian meals - there was only one, cheese based, main course that I could have and breakfast was tomato, egg, mushrooms, beans and hash browns. It was all tasty and good quality but would prefer more options. My carnivore partner said her meal was one of the best she'd had. Will definitely be returning :)

Perfect little getaway.

Hotel looked beautiful, inside and outside was really clean. Staff were extremely helpful. All the little details in the room like chocolates on the pillows was really lovely. Will definitely go again.

Lovely friendly, quirky hotel in pretty village

Posted 31-Jan-2017 on Hotels
A very warm welcome and a hotel packed with character and quirkiness. Staff were very friendly and attentive. However it was in many areas looking a little tired and worn and in need of a little TLC! But the staff more then made up for this. NB it advertises a gym, but only as three pieces of cardio equipment and no weights!

Period property

Lovely period property, very friendly and comfortable. My only negative comments would be that the shower water pressure was poor and that the room temperatures were too warm and not adjustable. Otherwise a very enjoyable stay.

Business trip

Hotel is located in a small village. I felt like the hotel isn't sure if it wants to be a small friendly place or something much grander. I visited in December and the hotel was ridiculously hot. There was even a fan in my room. I slept with one of the windows open, which was a huge mistake as somewhere outside, there was a loud fan that switched on and off every 30 minutes. Also, Lavaza coffee cups but sachets of coffee that are clearly from the nearest cash and carry - bit cheap for this type of hotel. On the upside, staff are great and breakfast was wonderful. The only dinner options were from their Christmas menu (£30), so I ate at the pub down the road. If you get a room for less than £80, then worth it. Anything more, save your money.

Friendly lovely hotel

Friendly staff lovely hotel great spa and treatments. Food lovely only one criticism the menu did not cater for children, in fairness the hotel did say the chef could do chicken and chips, but my daughter who is aged 11, not particularly keen on chips, and this sometimes annoys me that the menu or a few selections should be available in child portions and reflect the price! In the end she ended up with an adults portion adults price and left half of it. Perhaps this is something the hotel should review
