"De Swallow is een heerlijk huisje! Het is ruim en van vele gemakken voorzien. Je hebt een eigen terras waar je de hele dag/avond kunt zitten en genieten van de natuur om je heen (eekhoorntjes, konijnen, vogels, zelfs een vos gezien). Debbie en Bryan zijn een fantastische gastvrouw/gastheer. Bij aankomst stond er een persoonlijke attentie klaar en waren de basisbehoeften voor een goed ontbijt al in huis. We hebben het huisje ook als uitvalsbasis gebruikt om Cornwall te ontdekken wat prima is gelukt. Wij hebben genoten en zien onszelf zeker terugkomen hier! Zeker voor het huisje maar ook voor Cornwall!"

"I thought the rooms were amazing for the price, the AC was a god send and the pressure in the shower was great. I was extremely happy with the rooms and would gladly visit again. The course was amazing, really well kept and the staff were really polite and friendly. The only gripe that we had is that the time waiting to order and for the food to come wasn’t very good. We ate at Trethorne all three nights and it was the same every night. We even had to approach the bar to order our food on the second night. Larger tables were asked if their food was ok 2 or 3 times but we barely got a look from the waiter/waitresses."

"Welcoming hotel with helpful staff. Lovely old country house, very comfortable bed in delightful upper room with incredible views. Some tired and old decor in breakfast room but other areas well maintained and clean. Disappointed not to have had a shower in the bathroom, only a bath and had to ask for more shower gel and soap as it was not replaced."

"Great place on the Cornwall/Devon border, equidistant from the stuff you can do in the Southwest. The food they serve is great, as is the staff I interacted with. An EV charger in the same parking area is very helpful, as well. I was surprised that my single room didn't have a TV. The water pressure and heat when trying to shower were never consistent (but usually okay). While not a comment about this hotel, know that this area doesn't have much for stuff to do. If you're on vacation here, the hotel is where you go to call it a night and relax. Knowing all this, I would definitely keep this place in mind the next time I do a Southwest holiday."

"Met with a smile, arrived late and still offered dinner which was gratefully received. Robert and Richard were lovely hosts. Breakfast and dinner were fantastic. Kippers and eggs cooked to perfection. Stayed in the Granville.room. Lovely room with a four poster bed. Will be back for that award winning Sunday roast on way back down next time."

"From the moment we arrived we received a very warm welcome from Katherine and Andy. We were shown around and taken to our cottage which was clean and spacious. We all rode as a family on fantastic horses and with amazing instructors. Everyone was very friendly and couldn’t do enough to make us feel welcome. Andy gave us some great ideas for places to visit locally. We would definitely recommend staying here and look forward to returning."
