5 / 5 Excellent
We made a last-minute booking for this hotel after our first choice was closed because of Covid-19. Beautiful setting; obviously dog-friendly (a LOT of dogs there); pleasant atmosphere - but pricey for this type of hotel.
The food was somewhat disappointing. Breakfast was very basic (only limited choice of over-sweet cereals; no jam/marmalade; etc.) - although the salmon & scrambled egg was good.
We ate in the restaurant on both evenings. On one, we ordered Chicken Kiev with pomme anna. The chicken had a negligible amount of filling and the pomme anna was tiny. On the second evening, we splashed out on steaks - but the 'medium' was 'rare'.
Overall, not really value for money.
