The room is crazy small, which is common for Japan. What the problem? The bathroom has a thin glass door. If you want any privacy from a partner staying in the same room while you….use the restroom, that won’t happen. You need to be comfortable sharing EVERYTHING.

Guys, this hotel is crazy!! 3 star hotel but delivers 5 star service!!! Staff are very friendly and helpful. Location is awesome and quiet, not too touristy but only a few minutes walk from JR which you can access to many sightseeing place easily. this is certainly one the of best hotels i have ever stayed , if you stay there for a couple of nights you can tell they go out of their way to make extra effort. Dont forget to enjoy the bathhouse on top floor!! Thank you Nijo Urban Hotel!!!

So many restaurants and big supermarket close by. Staff was friendly. Clean hotel. The bathroom wasn't great since the door was glass but they had a curtain type thing to put as a cover. Big onsens on top floor was an added bonus!

コンパクトながらも机や鏡等使い勝手がいい、ベッドは広い、リーズナブル、清潔なお部屋です。二条駅からも近いですし、隣はコンビニ、歩いて5分以内にスーパーとドラッグストアもあります。千本旧二条のバス停が目の前にあって便利です。アメニティは最小限（例えば櫛やコットン等はなかったです、フロントにあるかも）。エアコンが古いお部屋でその風の臭いがひどかったのですが、すぐ別部屋をご用意くださいました。そこのエアコンはそこまで古くなかったので臭いは全く問題なかったです。

Great location. Quite central. Close to many restaurants. Staff receptive to comments. Room had only one bed for 2 adults and a child. Staff changed our room to accommodate our needs and gave us complimentary breakfast.

I liked the location. Nijō Station is easy to get to from Kyoto and if you have a JR Rail pass fare is included. The room was small but comfortable. A big supermarket just down the street and a 7/11 next door made things easy.

what's with the glass door?
Good location,close to JR line, a big supermarket and nice restaurants. The onsen in the hotel was lovely. The room was really nice apart from the glass door of the bathroom which left us with little privacy. We ended up putting a sheet over it. You could hear everything though. Breakfast was quite expensive so we ended up buying our own in the 7/11 beside the hotel.

Good value accommodation
The hotel is in a short walking distance from Nijo train station and Nijo subway station. Nijo train station is 2 stops on a local train from Kyoto Station, or one stop for. Kyoto Station is you get a rapid train, and it costs 190 Yen per ticket between Kyoto station and Nijo. Nijo Subway is 4 stops away from Keihan Subway which is in/ near the popular Gion area, and tickets cost 210 Yen per trip for four stops. There is a handy supermarket between the Nijo station or subway and the hotel. We got many good value bento boxes, sashimi packs and Japanese sweets there. Check in was very efficient. The room was comfortable and cleanand quiet. On the seventh floor, guests have free use of the spa facilities. The women’s spa room has a pass code which is changed every day. There is a cafe/dining area on the first floor (ground floor). This hotel is good value for money. Check out was very fast. They also offer a phone with free wifi and phone calls which you can take with you on your daily trips around town. Wifi in the room was very good. It is a safe area, and not too crowded or touristy.

This hotel is comfortable. The bathroom is not as tiny as other hotels too. You can take a JR, subway or bus and there are convenient stores, restaurants, pharmacy and supermarkets there. The location is really good. However, the entrance design is weird. Why is the hotel entrance so inward compared to the restaurant hotel?

Bang for your buck...
Location: 5 minute walk off the Nijo station. Didn't need a taxi. Neighborhood has all different types of ethnic restaurants so variety is plentiful. Apartment: standard small Asian beds. Surprised apartment included bath robes and slippers. Staff: Extremely accommodating. The map of the neighborhood is amazing. Breakfast: Very light breakfast. Local Japanese breakfast. You need a ticket have breakfast (make sure you get the tickets when you check-in. The front desk didn't give me any at check-in but asked for them two days into my stay) Overall: Very affordable and very high customer focus. No wonder you have to book well in advance to find rooms to stay here. Highly recommend.

The Urban Hotel Nijo Premium is a great choice if you want a comfortable and convenient choice that isn't a large hotel. Conveniently located with a great modern bathroom and spa on the top (7th) floor.

Great hotel with Onsen!
A great hotel to come back to after a fun day of exploring Kyoto! It has an Osen for you to enjoy and great food places to enjoy. There are 2 supermarkets for you to get some snacks. The hotel also provides comprehensive maps and is located close to Nijō castle

Lovely hotel in Kyoto
We really enjoyed my stay at Urban Kyoto Nijo Premium. The hotel was 5 mins walk from Nijo JR station so convenient to get to sightseeing places. There was also a bus stop in front of the hotel for JR bus directly to the Gold temple and a big supermarket nearby. The hotel was in excellent condition and very clean. Staff were lovely and good wifi. The room was just enough for 2 people with suitcases but this is common in Japan. We enjoyed the breakfast as they had a good range of Japanese and Western food (plus local Kyoto specialty) and some of the dishes get changed each day. It was also convenient to have washing machines and dryers available. We would definitely stay here again.
