The location was easy to get to and from public transportation. Hotel was really nice and super clean.
I’d definitely come back again if ever back in Japan.
Loved the location of this hotel. The room was a little small compared to our others throughout the stay but we had an amazing, wall to wall king size bed. Just wish there was an small area in the room for luggage
A warm welcome, a comfortable lobby area, and they held her bag so we could go off exploring Kyoto on our first morning. Every staff interaction was lovely. The room had everything we needed. We enjoyed the own sense! The lobby bar was perfect for a cocktail on the way out or on the way back in in the evening. Location was great for getting around everywhere. Definitely would stay there again!
Stay was comfortable and good. But halal food was not considered in the buffet, and the hotel was missing a prayer room, I asked for a room to pray while waiting for check-in, staff did not help.
Really nice, clean hotel with great amenities. The staff were incredible. The public onsen was super relaxing. And the front desk even helped us get a reservation that was sold out online.
The whole end of the room was the bed so you had to climb up it… but that wasn’t bad, just odd. The breakfast is really good and the hotel is in a great location for all the sites, and transport to Osaka
The rooms were tiny and the vinyl surrounding the bed was peeling off.
The amenities were average and the breakfast average at best. The bartender was friendly and offered good suggestions
Superb experience for the price point and perfect location in Gion!
Rooms were fresh and well composed for their size, shower and amenities worked perfectly.
Perfeclty lovated in Gion district. Plenty of options ensrby for transit and for eating. Ideal location for anyone wanting to experience the cultural hub of Kyoto.
I was not expecting the eco hotel approach that greeted us and we were a little confused at first by the do-it-yourself approach to room cleaning etc but the staff were helpful and the system did work - reducing the burden of unnecessary cleaning or waste. The public onsen was lovely too - a real bonus plus an excellent location. The rooms were small but not noisy and had everything you needed right in the heart of Kyoto.
We had a great stay at Kyoto Granbell Hotel. Coming from Canada, we expected the room and bathroom to be quite small by our standards, and they were, but that was not a surprise and didn’t take away from the overall experience.
The service was excellent, the hotel was clean and comfortable, and the food was very good. The location was also fantastic, making it very convenient to explore Kyoto and get around the area. The hotel is close to Gion and many restaurants, shops, and attractions, while still being a comfortable place to come back to after a long day.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would happily stay here again when visiting Kyoto.
Amazing location, quiet yet close to anything you might need. Comfortable bed and good water pressure in the shower. Room is a bit tight but we weren’t in the room much anyway. A luggage rack would be nice though I’m not sure if there would be enough room. Laundry was a great perk! Staff is top notch as they are throughout most of Japan.
We loved this hotel. It was walkable, clean quiet and near everything. The breakfast was amazing. The spa bathhouse was to die for. This hotel is my husband’s new standard of excellence when we travel. Well done.
