The staff at the hotel honor the spirit of the temple. The breakfasts were extraordinary and embracing quality and healthfulness. The customer service was all you could ask for. I had the opportunity to join a Buddhist ceremony in the temple early in the morning the day after arrival. it was an experience I will never forget. The hot bath in the beautiful bath pool was wonderful. The staff are kind and responsive, and the facilities beautiful. The location is perfect, secluded within the chion-in temple grounds away from the busy main touristy streets, but close enough to walk out to all the food, shops, and sightseeing spots. The hotel is very welcoming and tranquil, the rooms are spacious and beds were comfy. The staff were helpful and friendly. The on-site onsen was immaculate, so clean and relaxing, not busy at all. We were able to participate in the morning Buddhist ceremony which was truly enlightening to immerse yourself into first thing in the morning to set you off for a lovely day. We rented bikes and they gave us passes to park on the side of the hotel for free. We look forward to coming back to this hotel in the future with no hesitation!
