Very clean, newly refurbished pub in a good location with interesting artistic decorations by local artist who owns the property. Good base to explore this part of the Wales/England border. Comfortable room and excellent breakfast. We ate at the pub both nights and evening meal was also very good. Lovely staff. Parking seemed to be no problem, either in pub's very small car park or on roads in village.

It's an excellent spot for those who enjoy a peaceful environment, with local amenities like a village shop and a couple of traditional pubs. The surrounding area is characterised by rolling green hills, superb for scenic walks directly from your accommodation.
Couples often find Kerry village an ideal retreat. The quiet lanes and picturesque setting provide a relaxing escape, and there are many footpaths leading directly into the countryside for romantic strolls. You're also well-placed for exploring nearby market towns like Newtown, which offers more dining options and local attractions.
For families, staying slightly outside the village, in one of the many well-appointed country cottages or farm stays, offers more space and direct access to nature. These properties often come with ample gardens and are superb for children to explore.
When is the best time to go to Kerry?
The best time to visit Kerry is during the shoulder seasons of May, early June, or September, when the weather is pleasant and the crowds are thinner.

Many attractions, restaurants, and shops are fully open, offering a complete experience without feeling overcrowded.
For those prioritising outdoor activities like hiking, cycling, or visiting historical sites such as Ross Castle or the Ring of Kerry, these periods offer comfortable temperatures and clearer visibility. You'll also often find better value on accommodation and flights compared to the peak summer months of July and August.
While July and August offer the warmest weather, they also bring the largest crowds and highest prices.
