Stokesay inn and b and b

Stokesay inn and b and b

8/10 Good
"Lovely old pub off the main road. Staff are helpful, they serve a good pint and the breakfast was first rate. Negative points - the mattress on the king-size bed is too soft and no brewed coffee in the morning. I would stay there again."

"A beautiful building in a perfect location for enjoying the gorgeous picturesque town of Ludlow. Staff are friendly and welcoming, and if you don’t mind a little bit of uneven flooring in an ancient building this is a great place to stay."

Lodge 3 - a lodge that sleeps 4 guests in 1 bedroom

8/10 Good
"When we first got there it was a bit mixed up, a nightmare, but that was down yo me. The lady was very understanding and helpful, it was as if nothing was yo much trouble, friendly staff. Very clean, hot tub was amazing. Thankyou, only one little complaint, the guy that was going round cleaning the hot tub. Was a bit rude and not very friendly, when clearly we was going on the hot tub, we were just getting changed, and he came along, put a hose in, my partner went out to say that we were going in and didnt really want to go in when ots cold so he pulled the hose out threw it on the floor. N tutted, i understand they have to be checked etc, but if people are in surly he should have asked first. I get it cn be frustrating for him as he wants the jobs done, but it would hv been nice if he asked. Sorry to bring that up, everything was excellent other than that thankyou. Clare & Ben"

Cosy ex Railway Cottage with WiFi & EV charger

10/10 Excellent
"Had a lovely stay in this railway cottage. Had everything we needed and booking, comms, access etc was super easy. Out all day walking, we chilled out reading in the conservatory early evening, followed by dinner and binge watching later on. Perfect! There are sheep everywhere and some loose wandering up and down the road so careful if you have a dog. We went to The Green Dragon at Little Stretton for a meal which has an impressive vegetarian and vegan menu.Shrewsbury, Much Wenlock and Bridgnorth were lovely to visit with some great walks. We did a lovely 8k walk in the Shropshire Hills starting from the National Trust car park at Church Stretton Carding Mill Valley (finishing in the cafe).Stokesay Castle (Eng Heritage) is also worth checking out. I've never seen so many housemartins and swallows nesting. Finding suitable walks near the cottage was challenging as they all have styles... trying to manoeuvre a big 23kg saluki over these was hard work. If you've got a little dog you'll be fine. Enjoyed our break in Church Stretton and enjoyed exploring this beautiful part of the UK."

Old Downton Lodge

Old Downton Lodge

8/10 Good
"Needed a place close to Shropshire to visit rellys - my wife found this online and the photos and reviews were stellar. The longest, twistiest single lane country road with flocks of bantams took 15 minutes to reach the lodge from theain A road. Crazy! Fortunately, no one came the other direction so only the wildlife provided the hazards. The lodge is a converted barn/stables/something old and quirky. It has wifi and very polite staff. Nod to Winter and Tomasz who made our first night with great wine and cider, nibbles and such. This is a fine dining restaurant (no room service) and what is on the menu is just that- no exceptions. I overheard that the menu does not change much; seasonally I think so maybe not dine here for your entire stay as it is rich dining, too. Not a fan of rich fancy dining but it was well prepared and presented. No AIR CON but a fan is supplied to make you feel the hot air circulate around you. Breakfast was very good locally sourced fare. Really very good. The lodge is close to Ludlow where they have many concerts which must be fun and certainly would look at making this part of our next visit to this part of the world but be aware only small twisty roads so no motorways and plenty of slow moving heavy farm machinery to ensure a long leisurely drive."

East Cottage, CHURCH STRETTON

10/10 Excellent
"A great house, in a smashing location for walking the Shropshire hills . The house was clean and comfortable and met all our needs for a week’s stay. The kitchen was well equipped as we prefer to prepare our own meals. Only 1 drawback forMe was I’d would’ve preferred a softer pillow, but that is my preference not criticism . We arrived by train so no parking issues but it does have a large drive . I would’ve liked to see a larger television."
