"When we checked in we were first given a room overlooking construction and large trash bins. We were told since we booked through a third party that we were not priority for the best rooms and they were mostly sold out. We ended up paying a few hundred more per night to have a better room. Once we got there it was fabulous - ocean front, very spacious, freshly remodeled. The only drawback was the rooms on each side of us were still being refurbished, so there was some traffic and noise during the day. We found the location to be ideal for Kapaa. The beach was too rough and rocky for safe swimming but it's close to other calmer waters. The hotel staff and restaurant (we only ate at the casual bar area and coffee/breakfast place) were great."

"If you are looking for a relaxing, authentic, and peaceful place to stay, this is it! The Kaua‘i Inn is incredibly quiet and tucked away, making it the perfect escape from the busier, crowded resorts. It truly feels like a hidden tropical oasis. The grounds are beautiful, the atmosphere is so serene, and we slept incredibly well thanks to how peaceful it is at night. To top it all off, the breakfast was fantastic—fresh, delicious, and the perfect start to our days of exploring. The staff was wonderfully welcoming and made us feel right at home. We cannot recommend this place enough and will absolutely be back!"

Kauai Shores Hotel

"This funky, family-friendly complex was a change of pace from my wife’s and my usual condo/hotel stays. Lava Lava Beach Club restaurant and nightly music, plus beachfront, were awesome. Amenities were sadly mostly overrun by teenagers and younger kids, and only available very early and hit-and-miss late. Parking/valet is congested and sometimes nightmarish, if “free.” That said, we enjoyed plenty of beach time, breezy balcony relaxation, and a few moments in the great hot tub, unfortunately usually packed. Staff is friendly, helpful, and attentive to conditions. Sand was swept vacuumed away regularly, for example, from the open-air stairways and passages."
