Lovely stay at Stone Villa. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was delicious, varied and plentiful. The rooms comfortable and spotlessly clean. The lovely hospitality tray which was topped up each day was very welcome after a long day sightseeing. Highly recommended.

This was my second visit to Liverpool and the first time using a hotel, I was drawn in by the outside look of the hotel then when I saw the rooms and then how good the price was I was sold.
When I got there it was clear the area was quite close to anything I'd need and less than 10 minutes from central station which was perfect. Upon entering the Beautifully decorated lobby I was given key cards by the lovely clerks at the front desk, key cards which you need to enter the hotel itself and use...

The attention to detail in each of the rooms (our family occupied 5 of the rooms) is amazing. Each is completely different but presented to a very high standard. We were wanting for nothing and nothing was too much trouble for the friendly staff. A great place to stay in a great location.

Great first impressions upon arrival, interior decor makes it feel luxurious and staff were attentive; nothing was too much trouble.
Lack of parking nearby is the only downside and was more because of how bad the weather was, but convenient for walking into the center in the evening.

Excellent standard of hotel. Really liked the room, dinner, breakfast, atmosphere. The only minor negatives were the amount of listed TV channels which didn't work, no radio stations and our AC didn't seem to function although we didn't mention it to staff. Thoroughly recommend.

We arrived late and were greeted by very pleasant helpful hosts who made us feel welcome, great selection for breakfast and cooked food was excellent, I would certainly stay again if down in the area and would recommend Pickmere Country Guest House to friends.

Great place to stay although just for constructive feedback there were areas that appeared to be forgotten, it has 4 stars on trip advisor but could easily slip to 3, for instance the entrance for guests to access their rooms appears slightly unkempt carpeting needed hoovering and paint work could do with a good wash down, this is first impressions. The rooms were comfortable but again areas of dusting appeared not to happen or had not been checked. The bathroom could do with the grouting to be...

Perfect location and great service. The staff could not be more helpful. Parking easy and amenities good. Breakfast was lovely. Rooms a little tired but perfectly ok. The only slight downside is the room temperature which was a little on the hot side but overall it was great and we would stay again.

The best area to stay in Hoole is Hoole Village, which is the main hub of activity for visitors.
This neighbourhood is very walkable and offers a selection of independent shops, cafes, and restaurants, primarily along Faulkner Street and Charles Street. It has a welcoming, local feel, distinct from the busier city centre of Chester.
Couples often find Hoole Village appealing due to its relaxed atmosphere and excellent dining options. You can enjoy a quiet evening meal or browse the local boutiques without the crowds found elsewhere. The proximity to Alexandra Park also offers a pleasant spot for a stroll.
For travellers seeking convenience and a slightly quieter base, Hoole Village provides easy access to Chester city centre, either via a short walk or a quick bus ride.
When is the best time to go to Hoole?
The best time to visit Hoole is during the late spring and summer months, from May to September, when the weather is generally at its finest.
During this period, you can expect milder temperatures and more sunshine, which is ideal for exploring the local shops and cafes along Faulkner Street and enjoying the outdoor spaces like Alexandra Park. The longer daylight hours also mean you have more time to wander through the residential streets with their distinctive Victorian terraced houses.
Couples often find these months great for a relaxed getaway. You can enjoy al fresco dining, leisurely strolls, and perhaps a short walk into Chester city centre to see the historic sights without the worry of inclement weather. The pleasant conditions make it easier to enjoy Hoole's welcoming atmosphere.
For those looking for a quieter experience, the shoulder months of May, early June, and September are excellent. The weather is still good, but there are fewer visitors, offering a more tranquil visit.
