"Extremely good experience at Horwood House. Everything from the greeting at reception to housekeeping was faultless. Stayed in a deluxe king room which was as expected but above all, very clean and well maintained. Would stay again if in the area. They had the most attentive and polite staff I've ever encountered in a hotel. "

"Both rooms had been smoked in and reception said do I want him to spray air freshener ? No pumps working on bar and breakfast was poor Couldn’t really get any worse"

"The hotel is close to the Stansted airport and a quick shuttle ride away. You pay for the shuttle as you get on, which makes it easy."

"Nice big room, very comfortable bed. We made use of the pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. The pool was busy between 3-4pm with children's lessons. Staff were friendly and helpful."

"People gathering outside the front door smoking wasn’t welcome we expected from Novotel . Food prices are unnecessarily expensive including a simple water bottle . Can’t get any food item delivered . Property is busy and feels like motel rather the Novotel I used really enjoy . "

"Breakfast very good, items replenished when asked. Bar meals, small choice but very good. Unfortunately the coffee served at the bar was not, flat white cold and weak, black Americano hot but very weak & watery. However, coffee & hot chocolate from machine at breakfast was excellent! Staff friendly & reception very welcoming. Did not eat in restaurant as menu not to all of out tastes. Towels in room large & soft, bed comfy. Grounds beautiful and plenty of outdoor seating too. "

"Great hotel, fantastic facilities, join the rewards club and between 5-7 £4 for a pint of Budweiser, discount on food in the bar and grill. Big screens for sports, overall one of the best sub £100 hotels I’ve stopped in. "
