I loved staying here. If you’re looking for the authentic British village experience this is it. Rooms are above the local village pub, the locals and staff are all friendly (as I left the bar everyone said good night to me) and the dinner was delicious pub fare. My only critique is that the continental breakfast leaves much to be desired and there’s no place to get a coffee before 830 (a shop up the street) and for an early riser like me that was a bummer. BUT , I loved staying here (prob couldn’t do more than a couple nights on account how sleepy the village is )

Just the overall stay and the staff especially Tracy couldn't do enough for us....and lovely old building which was clean and tidy...cooked breakfast would be good but it serficed just having continental!👍✌️

Landlord was very friendly and spent time talking to us. Very good management. Rooms were very clean with nice beds. Breakfast was plentiful. Dinner was very good and reasonably priced. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

An accident waiting to happen.
Stayed two nights. First night was excellent. Very comfortable room. Friendly staff, good evening meal, excellent breakfast. Second night was terrible. Woken by three loud voices, one a woman member of staff and two male guests. Rewoken at midnight by member of staff turning reseting the electrics in the next door utility room. Kept awake by the sound of clattering dishes as our fellow guest helped themselves to a post midnight snack in breakfast eating area. Noisy Central heating came on at 1am. Shocked to find the fire door leading to the breakfast area wedged open during the night. More power cuts during the morning which may have been due to our fellow guests attempting to use a faulty toaster which was missing when took our breakfast. I refer you to the open fire door!

Fabulous
Absolutely fabulous ! Lovely room, clean and comfortable. Staff could not have been more friendly and accommodating. It’s a community pub with 2 B&B rooms. The food is excellent. We were going to eat else where in the evenings but couldn’t find anywhere we liked better so made a bee line for the restaurant every evening.

Tracey and the team were exceptionally helpful and friendly. The continental breakfast was more than enough to set us up for the day. The room was very clean with a comfy bed. We were made to feel very welcome by the locals. Would recommend.

Flying visit, wonderfully looked after
A quick stay, but lovely - we’d really like to come back and be based here and explore the area. Tracey made us feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. We had a comfy nights sleep and woke up to some beautiful snowy views across beautiful countryside. Our room was super clean and had all we needed for our flying visit.

A lovely place with community owned pub downstairs and accommodation upstairs. The pub had a great atmosphere and served good food. The only downside was the noise from the pub after 10 pm. A quirky building and the bedroom was spotless with a very comfortable bed. Perfect!

Best experience of staying in a pub ever! It was a community owned PH and the friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere in the bar reflected this. Every effort had been made to furnish our clean, well decorated room with all our requirements including a small fridge and generous tea, coffee and biscuits. The 2 rooms had their own external entrance and staircase with a good breakfast served in the private room outside the bedrooms. Add this I delicious home cooking in the bar for an overall great experience. Thoroughly recommended and good value for money.

We liked that the pub was a co-operative and run by the local community, who clubbed together to save it from closure. Attractive old building, clean and warm. Very much enjoyed the food we had in the pub restaurant. Pub manager very friendly.
