Cory, the manager of The Fox, is a lovely host. Super hard working, he is around to serve breakfast and still managing the bar late at night. Nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are spacious and warm. Parking is immediately outside the rooms and easily accessed. Bury St Edmund’s is a lovely town with excellent shopping and coffee shops. Strongly recommend staying at The Fox for visiting Bury St Edmunds.

Highly recommend this above all others if staying in Long Melford. The two superb rooms are five star. We had a wonderful stay and a great breakfast.

We loved our stay in the Abbey Hotel and apartments, the staff, breakfast & attention to detail were amazing. Very easy walk into the town centre with its unique shops, pubs & restaurants, also not forgetting the Cathedral & Abbey Gardens. Bury St Edmunds is a must to visit.

I believe it had just reopened after being closed for a whilst for refurbishment. Having not seen the before i cannot comment on the works undertaken. However the place i visited was super, friendly staff (dont think they had been refurbished), great room and very comfy. A pleasant, comfortable and clean place to stay, but would have liked to see more healthy options, (e.g. salads) on the dinner menu. Gym modern and good size for a hotel.

Stunning property, gorgeous & delightfully helpful owners ( Doug & Kay)& in a beautiful part of the country. Close to good restaurants, historical villages & towns. Just a perfect weekend retreat.

We battled the snow for a stay here and were so glad we did. The hotel is beautiful with all the wooden beams and real log fires and our bedroom was a really good size. Both dinner and breakfast were yummy and my husband even had a treatment in the spa which he enjoyed. My only criticism would be the lack of music. Other than the airman’s bar the whole building was in silence I think some light background music would have been nice and added some atmosphere. I understand a lot of your guests...

Absolutely lovely and will definitely be back. Kids loved it too. Great breakfast, lovely staff. Nothing not to love. Staff were even great even though we arrived later than the final check in time of 9pm so dont panic like I did!!

Stayed for one night to attend a wedding reception locally. Was greeted by a very friendly and helpful receptionist, who also ordered us a taxi to get us to the wedding reception. The room was very spacious and bed comfortable. Plenty of towels provided. Breakfast was good with plenty to choose from. No complaints, would stay again.

With the warmest of greetings I was shown to my room. The room was very clean and the bed comfortable. This is the first time I have slept all night in a hotel or B&B for many years. Breakfast was delicious and gave me a tremendous start to my day. Thank you so very much.

Very friendly staff , gorgeous room with huge comfy bed! Mineral water ,luxury soap etc and hot chocolate for the kids!! Lovely breakfast and wonderful service !
