It was built in the early 12th century, and was altered in the 13th century when a structure was vaulted and buttresses added. It was probably used by both the nuns and the people of Haddington. In the 17th century, it became a Protestant place of worship but eventually fell into decay. The second night Friday little did we know there was a nightclub next to room. The booming from music went through your body. We phoned reception to see what time the club shut we were advised 3an. Didnt get to sleep till 3.30am. Which wasn't ideal as we had a long drive up to the highlands. And felt shattered in the morning.
