"This hotel is located in a narrow street filled with several bars and restaurants. It is perfect if you would like to go out to eat. But the noise from outside is quite significant . Our room was on the second floor, just above the bars/restaurants and we could not sleep until mid night. The room did not have any air conditioning system, except two fans that one of them was broken. We had to close the windows because of the outside noise, so the room was quite hot. I contacted the management...

"Centrally located in beautiful Haarlem. Unfortunately directly within the party mile. Friday night and saturday night laughing, singing and screaming until 4.30 am directly under your bedroom - no chance for resting or sleeping 😵💫. Sunday was calmer."

There's a fair few choices between hotels in Haarlem. While I can't compare to any others, I can wholeheartedly recommend Carlton Square.
If you're not familiar with Haarlem and are looking at Carlton Square's location on a map, it looks to be somewhat outside the city centre. But don't be fooled! It's really a very short walk to the main square (Grote Markt) and everything else in town. And it's a pleasant walk too. Close to the Central Station so a handy location for the eurostar. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Great base if your happy to walk (or cycle) to the main attractions. I was on the 2nd floor on the corner and outside noise was not issue. At points you can hear the trams rumbling but I didn't find it intrusive.
They have a fun little bar that does great cocktails!
