We paid a reduced rate so didn't expect a room with the best view on the higher floors and we didn't get one. However, our room one the first floor was fantastic. The bathroom had a soaking tub which is a feature I prefer and a shower of course. They provided a bathrobe and slippers in the bathroom and also another light weight bathrobe in the bedroom....that was a special touch. They were kind enough to provide a bathroom scales which with large, late night Spanish dinners is a good idea. Bed was large and very comfortable. If you were in New York City you would pay up to five times as much for a comparable room. While not a Gaudi, the hotel was designed by Lluís Domènch i Montaner as a private home in 1907. How exciting to actually be staying in one of the fabulous architectural creations of Barcelona. It is located on the beautiful Passeig de Gràcia. Staff was helpful. I didn't eat at the restaurant and missed their jazz night.
Loved our stay at Catalonia Park Guell. Very good value for double room for a week. Pool very nice with lots of sun loungers. Only 10 mins on Metro from centre of town. Only negatives were: no kettle in room and sometimes a bit noisy. Pool very cold also but nice when hot.
Overall, definitely worth it!
The Catalonia Rubens is located in a quiet area and very close to Park Guell, one of the city*s emblems, and enjoys …More
A nice quiet hotel with clean rooms, good facilities and welcoming friendly staff. The hotel is positioned 2 minutes from the Metro at Lesseps so makes it ideal for getting into the heart of Barcelona quickly and easily. Guell park is only 5 minutes walk.
Breakfast was better than we expected from some of the other reviews and the room was excellent and clean with a newly fitted bathroom with walk in shower.
Thank you for making the whole Barcelona experience a great one.
Enjoyed the stay as it was in walking distance to things we wanted to see and do. There was no lobby or staff but getting into the hotel and room was no problem. The ability to store our luggage securely was a bonus. The room was clean and spacious. The shower was perfect!!
Formerly a separate town, much of Gràcia retains a village-like, bohemian atmosphere with interesting shops and bars and some of the best restaurants in the city. It is best known for Parc Güell, designed by Gaudí. This beautiful landscaped park overlooks the city and features many of his trademark flourishes. The square of Plaça Rius i Taulet is the heart of Gràcia. Plaça del Sol is the place to be seen after dark.
