The Cornmill

3.5 star property
10.0 out of 10, Exceptional, (1)
"This is a lovely place to stay. The Cornmill is right down by the shore of the Cree estuary and Garlieston is a fabulous old village with the Harbour Inn providing good food (advisable to book, though, as our landlady kindly told us). Lovely walks, bike rides and places of historical interest in the vicinity. Katy at the Cornmill was kindness itself - her breakfasts are fantastic and if there's anything else you need, you only needed to ask. Hoping to go back, not least to take advantage of her...

The View - a house that sleeps 6 guests in 3 bedrooms

10.0 out of 10, Exceptional, (2)
"The property is light and spacious, with everything you probably need. Out host, Andy, was usually in the vicinity because of other interests (especially The Hive cafe next door). Andy was very friendly, with time to chat and check everything OK. Catch him over a pint in the excellent Harbour Inn (only 5 doors away) if you can. Recommend the food in both pub and cafe."

Situated in a harbour side location, ideally located to explore the rugged coastline and beaches.

"This is a comfortable modern house, conveniently located at the end of a ery pretty village and with a patio overlooking the harbour. The view changes by the hour as the tide sweeps in and out. Lots of bird life, sandy beaches nearby and lots of places to visit. Fantastic icecream in the village"

3 bedroom accommodation in Garlieston, Newton Stewart

"Cosy, clean comfortable cottage. Lovely stay apart from the weather. Very windy (yellow warning active) causing some chimney noise. But all in all a very enjoyable stay."

"Absolutely super cottage: cosy, comfortable and very well-equipped. Fantastic location right by the sea, next to The Hive cafe and just a few yards from the pub. Owners have thoughtfully provided guides to the area such as walks and day trips. The only point I would make is that local food shopping is very limited: take supplies, especially fresh produce. The welcome hamper was a lovely touch, particularly for late arrivals."
