The village is a sleepy hollow and the hotel is a great spot. Some may say it is a little dated, but I’d say if you want new, clean lines, city clone the you could stay in a Holiday in served by disinterested staff with no reason to make your stay special. Come to a place like the Cross Keys and you get the real thing, warts and all. Not that there are any, just some tiny midgy bites. Quite unfriendly host, unwilling to accommodate even small requests. Dining room very cold. Limited choice of food since the ovens had been out of commission for a week. We checked in over the phone and on arrival were unexpectedly upgraded to the honeymoon suite a lovely room with gorgeous furniture. we were greeted at breakfast with a glass of champagne and a very welcoming host. The breakfast was lovely with best eggs i have ever tasted. We were welcomed with congratulations on arrival and a champagne breakfast couldn't have asked for more.
