We stayed for one night and were really impressed with the whole feel of the hotel.

1 night stay , checked in late but still able to get some food, friendly staff, good service

We had a lovely one night stay here. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The room was clean, a large shower room, and a very comfortable bed. We had dinner there and the food was lovely. The breakfast was included and also good - the chef came to take our orders for cooked food, and was very accommodating.

Bit off the beaten track but well worth making the diversion for. Staff very hospitable. Room clean with welcoming chocolates and a decanter with a decent measure of whiskey. Bed comfortable and bathroom stocked with necessities. Food first class and a good selection of beers and ales. Ideal for business to unwind (good wifi all over). Good for romantic ramblers/cyclists.

From the moment we checked in the whole stay was second to none, normally this is a one or perhaps two night stay but we had about a week there. The staff were so helpful and very courteous on all levels, the room was clean and lovely bath towels provided. We used the fridge and iron and there video choices, even the water provided was a welcome touch. The morning breakfasts were delightful and catered for everyone, staff exceptional even when busy. Staff were very positive and helpful. Room was clean. Breakfast was excellent and more than enough. Great choice available. Parking was good, but very tight on the night we were there as there was a wedding going on. But we still found a spot. In spite of how busy it was the staff coped really well and were cheerful to boot.

Its great to find a hotel you can stay for just one night over the weekend. I was looking for somewhere close to London (34 miles away), with great reviews, good food and accommodation and places to visit nearby. The Bel and Dragon had all of that. The room was tastefully furnished (with free sloe gin - added bonus!) and the hotel was cosy and characterful. We enjoyed a drink in the bar and a great dinner (although I noticed the bar food also looked enticing. There is a snug for hotel guests...

Lovely stay. Warm welcome, immaculate room, great beers and wines, delicious supper, fantastic breakfast. Happy and attentive service throughout. Couldn't fault it.

Fantastic new hotel with great facilities but no tea/ coffee or even a glass in the room so not great if you are thirsty!

Had a fabulous stay at this gorgeous traditional inn. Rooms are beautiful, spacious and clean, with good amenities, such as a Nespresso coffee machine, and complimentary items in the fridge and bathroom. Service from staff was wonderful and friendly, and the included breakfast is amazing. Location is exceptional, right on the square opposite the cathedral, with easy access to the high street and the train station. I loved my stay, and definitely hope to stay again. Thank you to the Old Vine!

Wykeham Arms is a period institution! Accomodation is a plus, and great food... Location, location, location helps!
