"Upon checking in found the reception staff to be friendly and helpful so much so we requested change of room because the room on first floor had view of brick wall therefore allocated room on fourth floor a forward facing bedroom. Decor is pleasant enough though furniture dated in the bedroom and some fixtures and furnishings looked slightly rather tired and worn. There were nice touches such as soft drinks and crisps provided. Would appear breakfast served in the restaurant is possibly run by a company separate to hotel and we found bit of an atmosphere and staff seemed a little stern if not a little lacking morale. Cooked breakfasts were tasty enough and served piping hot. Hotel could be doing with with some well warranted TLC particularly corridors and bedrooms. Hotel could so easily be upgraded to be stylish again."
