Footpath to Eggleston Bridge The Teesdale way from Cotherstone to Eggleston drops down the steep and wooded north bank of the Tees just above the outflow from the tunnel built to bring water from Kielder water to the Tees. This track is the service road for that engineering white elephant, now rarely used as demand for water from Teesside industry has all but vanished, and the Kielder water is such a different pH from that of the Tees that it is environmentally unacceptable to move water through the tunnel. "It was a wonderful night spent at Super8! Very clean and spacious room and shower/toilet, such helpful staff too, even in the middle of the night! My cot was set up in the room before we arrived and my infant went straight to bed, they were kind enough to give us extra beddings too. I would honestly go back again, it was an excellent stay. "
