"Hotel staff were amazing. Dinner was great. Now the negatives. There was a huge coach party staying over. The dining area was out of bounds for usual guests and signs were up to say 2 larger areas were reserved. The bar area itself only has a few tables so there was no where for other guests to sit. The bar area needs additional tables and get rid of the piano. I asked about seating to the waitress, she said for other guests the bar would stop taking food orders from 7-8. So I ordered in time, I chased my food 45 minutes later. The ticket hadn’t printed, but it came out quickly after this. Why didn’t reception tell me about the coach part my or that we need to order before 7. Other negatives the door swipe card kept playing up so had to visit reception 3 times for a new card. But I think the reader is faulty room 208. Also in my room randomly sticking out of the floor was a capped off pipe. I discovered it with my toe early this morning. Whilst staff were exceptional and dinner was when I got it. I would not stay here again!! "

"My son has a duck feather allergy. We asked at front reception if we can use some hypoallergenic hollow Fiber pillows to which their reply why house keeping is gone and we don’t know where they store them. My son ended up getting a full on body rash and couldn’t sleep all night. "

"Tired looking hotel, could do with an update. Breakfast was a disappointment, no bacon or eggs and seemed to be no hurry to replenish items. Didn’t use pool or spa but looked nice enough. Extremely helpful member of staff helped us pull some tables together for a meal in the bar one night as we couldn’t get into the restaurant and needed to be sat at a regular table. Bar prices were very expensive- £32 for 2 glasses of wine! Also tried to charge us £10 for car parking even though we had travelled by train. This was quickly rectified. Rooms were dated but had toiletries in the bathroom - only 1 hand towel - and there was plenty of teabags, milk, coffee etc "

"This hotel is very busy and I had booked two rooms for my son’s wedding on Good Friday. I had contacted the hotel before my stay to ensure that we had twin rooms - I had previously booked them and thought I had paid in advance, but they said I hadn’t and advised that if rebooked through the method I wished to use, that although it would say King Size they would immediately change them to the twins I had booked - they suggested I not cancel the twins until I had booked the king size rooms just in case they sold out. I spoke directly with the Hotel after booking and was assigned the twin rooms instead of king size. So imagine our shock, disappointment and dismay when the beds were Ming Size and not Twin Beds! This was not acceptable and such a bad thing especially because I was called a few days later by Delta saying that the booking was cancelled and I said Yes, because I had rebooked and had spoken with the Hotel directly! So did this guy do something to my arrangements? I don’t know but at £150 plus £27 for breakfast x2 rooms for 1 night - the least I would expect is getting the correct bed configuration!"
