This was my 3rd and sadly last ever stay at Hamiltons. To start, the property is lovely, we always stayed in the Balcony suite which is spacious and comfortable. The location on the hill gives a lovely view but the area of Southend in general, no longer feels safe. It most certainly is not in the evening.
Now the serious issue.
On all previous visits we have had breakfast served in the room at 10am. This was not necessary on this occasion so we arrived at the dining room at 9.30am. We were met with a very abrupt, virtually scolding, breakfast finishes at 9.20am, I told you yesterday at check-in.This was an outright lie, delivered with venom. I quickly corrected the lady, at which she told me rudely that I should have read the sheet of paper somewhere in the suite.
I am an Expedia Gold member and in all of my travels I have rarely been treated with such utter disdain. To be clear, you have to be up before 8am to physically pay for the parking ticket at the meter outside, I did not sleep in.
To clarify, a lovely suite in a nice property, in a rather rundown seaside resort with the rudest manager I have ever encountered.
