The hotel is located very close to the A19 near to Yarm, however it is located in the beautiful and tranquil grounds which enjoy stunning views of the Cleveland Hills with only a very low level of noise drifting up from the A19. My husband and I stayed overnight and what a pleasant night it was. We were greeted with the friendly lady at the check in desk who arranged a booking in the restrurant, the room was cosy and very clean and the bed was really comfortable. Diddn't use parking or spa but hotel was very convenient for the city centre. Dining room a bit cold. Excellent choice at breakfast and evening meals tasty.

Easy to find from main roads. After driving for 4 hours through the rain I was pleased to arrive at my destination. The hotel appeared a bright, happy star on the rainy horizon. The reception area welcomed me with it's serene, peacefulness. Staff only too happy to come to my help late on a Sunday evening. My room was large, cleanly furnished with a vast bathroom that I could have had a party in. The room was comfortable and perfect for catching up on some late night desk work. I slept well...

A great property with leisure facilities and parking close to Durham (<10 minute drive or park and ride opposite carriageway) Room was lovely but surprised no air conditioning or fridge and it did get a little hot overnight

We went for a family stay and it did not disappoint! Warm cosy and we were welcomed with fresh bread and treats left for us. Karen came down to check everything was ok. They also cleared snow from the awning over the hot tub! Great hosts this is are 2nd visit as a family

We used the hotel as a base whilst I underwent some tests and procedures at the Royal Victoria infirmary. The staff could not have been more helpful and all in all the quality of our stay was exceptional. The bedrooms are understated but well-equipped. Fabulous room, enormous comfortable bed, amazing bathroom, it was a real taste of luxury. Only one slight quibble, the breakfast was extra so we didn't bother.

This place is a HUGE hidden gem! From start to finish, the service, staff, spa, value for money, everything was fantastic! We have stayed in many many hotels in the UK and this hotel has to be our favourite. The secret garden spa for an extra £25pp is worth every penny!
