We stayed at the mandrake for 1 nigh get away. Check-in was smooth and our Expedia Gold status was acknowledged and we received 2 free drink vouchers (which turned out to be £15 per person).
The room was fairly small but was well appointed and spotless. Food and drinks were quite expensive but very good.
Overall the stay was good but the hotel is pretty pricey and I'm not sure it has all the amenities to justify the cost.

I was in town for a formal dinner and found this place. I've stayed at Best Western before and have found them a good chain and this one was no exception. Perfectly situated just a stone's throw from Hyde Park, it's a very nice period character hotel. The room was quiet and warm, WiFi was great and everything was clean and tidy.
I had to do a lifestyle photoshoot the following day and the Hotel willingly allowed us to use their very nice Library coffee lounge as a backdrop, which was perfect.
Breakfast was very good with an excellent selection of hot and cold food - even plenty of oranges and a squeezer if you love fresh organs juice.
I would most definitely stay here again if in town.
Very minor issue, shower water pressure was low but just adequate.

All the reviews you have read about this place are true! We had a wonderful 4 night stay at Batty Langley’s in October. This is a wonderful and unique hotel in the centre of London, very convenient for Liverpool Station and easily accessible for local transport. Batty Langley’s is not at all like a conventional hotel but is a unique ‘Georgian Guesthouse’. It does not have the facilities of slightly larger hotels (restaurant, bar, gym) but these are not important and Batty Langley’s more than makes up for it in charm. There is a lovely snug (with an honesty bar) where we had coffee and a drink after a busy day in London. Our room was small but very comfortable and was tastefully decorated with authentic antiques. The only downside was that there was no table in our room, so we did not order breakfast as we did not want to eat on our bed. Having said that there are so many cafes nearby that this wasn’t a problem. When we arrived, we did not have coffee facilities in our room but once we asked, we were offered a daily tray of freshly ground coffee and fresh milk each day. The staff were simply wonderful; discreet, calm and always attentive. There was building works right outside our bedroom which woke us up each morning but it’s to be expected in the middle of London and it got us out of bed! We will definitely return and recommend to friends. Just wish we had found this little gem before now!
