"For the price we paid, this was excellent! The hotel is stunning when you walk in, the rooms were nicely decorated, if a little grubby but we weren’t expecting 5*. The beds were really comfy. I’m not sure what the rooms would be like in summer as there was no heating or air conditioning and windows didn’t open much. The bars ares were excellent too! Staff were really nice, didn’t seem the best trained in hospitality, which surprised me for a Britannia Hotel but still, we weren’t put off - maybe some staff had called in sick and they were covering? We’d definitely return. "

"The room was clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful.Breakfast and evening meals were excellent. Parking was easy. We were able to walk into town along the canal which runs along the rear of the hotel in 5- 10 minutes. Very enjoyable stay."
