"Our room was a beautiful suite with a great view of the bay. The bathroom was beautifully updated BUT…. there was not water to put in that gorgeous tub. I must say a bus’s load of people came in about 6;30 so that was the problem. Dinner service was a little slow and the rib eye was not a good cut of meat and I ordered rare and got well done. They needed more help to serve all the people. They were working on the kitchen update so I guess that was a problem. One more thing, all the hall fire doors should be blocked open during the day because dragging three heavy suitcases through narrow heavy doors was not fun!!!!"

"Another nice stay, although only one night. Staff really friendly and helpful, especially the young man who checked us in and lady who took our order at breakfast. Room clean and comfortable with lovely view of pier and beach. Hospitality tray with tea, coffee, chocolate and biscuits. Breakfast really nice, plenty of choice. It was a really hot night and air conditioning wasn’t working, however a small tower fan had been put in room, but didn’t really cool it down! Other than that good stay. "

"Loved this no frills historic hotel. No fuss - just texted me door code to the room, which was all in perfect order. The hotel is just opposite Deal's beautiful beach - if you get a sea view room you'll catch the sunrise. Great work by the hotel owners - shows you can run an historic hotel in a great location but still make it affordable to all visitors"

"This was the most attentive and beautiful guest house I have ever stayed in. The owner is so kind and accommodating, and the room and common areas are impeccable and unique. The Victoria King room truly has its own private sunroom and terrace. I almost didn't want to leave the guest house to see the sights because the room is so comfortable and beautiful. The kitchen amenities are great and there are grocery stores within 3 minutes by foot. I met wonderful and kind guests and even made friends. I am so glad to have found this guest house and would love to return. "

"Very walkable to area locations. Historically old but cleanest place I think I have ever stayed. Remember that many places don't have AC and this is one but fans in rooms with full length window open to balcony in our room. Narrow stairway to rooms if that means anything to anyone. Was fine for us. Breakfast was buffet style, tasty and we still had personal attention with refills, etc. Host made sure we had transportation to the cruise port."
