On the first day we got there it looked like the room had only been neatened up by the previous guest, with rubbish still in the bin and a brown stain on the toilet seat (make your own suggestions of what it is). we told the front desk and they got someone in to clean this by using a towel and water no cleaning supplies were brought in to clean the mess. Along with this, there were multiple stains on the towels which to me seemed to be superficial. As a way of an apology, they gave us a free drink at the bar for the trouble of the toilet being dirty.
the same night while in the room having a drink with the complimentary drinks in the room, we spilt a bit of hot chocolate in the bed, the next morning while leaving to explore Canterbury we asked for the room to be cleaned as it is requested only (due to COVID), the bedroom when we arrived looked like it was clean to then realised all they did was make the bed not replace the sheet which had an obvious stain on it. once we saw this it was quite late about 10/11 pm we went to the front desk to see if they could be replaced and were told we had to wait till the morning for them to be replaced.
In the end, once the sheets were replaced we did not ask for the room to be cleaned again in case we got new sheets that weren't clean or stained.
