"Staff were excellent, food was good, beds comfortable. there was a smell from the cesspit that lingered all weekend, and the Pool could have been cleaner. Overall very nice stay"
"I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Smithy Cottage. I appreciated the gift basket upon arrival. The location was ideal for the Peak District. I would highly recommend. "

"Check-in was smooth and efficient, and the front desk team was friendly and attentive. The room was spotless, beautifully decorated, and incredibly comfortable. I especially appreciated the thoughtful touches like complimentary bottled water. The food was delicious!"
"Excellent facilities, clean and modern room. The rooms were very warm, even with a fan. I think a thinner duvet for the summer would be a good call. Food in the restaurant was very good however the services was quite poor. Granted it was a busy Saturday night but the services for drinks and ordering food was very slow and we felt forgotten about. We didn’t get asked if we would like to see the dessert menu and if we hadn’t had asked for the bill we would have been waiting all night.
All in all I would recommended the hotel - super facilities and location but service staff need either more training, more staff on or bettered managed. "

10/10 Excellent
"This was our third trip to the same cottage and it was another fantastic holiday! The rooms are immaculate with plenty of space for our group (4 adults, 4 children). The kitchen is well stocked with glasses, crockery, cooking utensils as well as fresh bread and cake! We always feel well looked after and Pip is a fab host with a personal touch. Thank you!"
"Super 2 days in a great spot.
Delicious breakfast and we ate at the hotel both evenings. Good choice of food. Averagely priced. Comfortable room but pillows a bit too firm for me.
Very pleasant and attentive staff"
