A traditional country inn with many original features. A cosy snug with log fire, comfortable seating and a genuine friendly welcome from all staff. I was staying on my own for two nights and I felt very relaxed here to eat alone in an evening. My room was well equipped and a reasonable size for a single room, with an en-suite bathroom with shower. Plenty of tea and coffee and a nice touch of an individual Bakewell pudding for me to tuck into on my arrival. There was a great choice for breakfast with the teapot being topped up as many times as I liked. The Chocolate Brownie with salted caramel sauce and ice cream I ate off the main menu one of the evening was beautifully presented and tasted amazing. The huge ‘ cake of the day ‘ sat under a glass dome on the bar which you could order with a hot drink for £5.95 looked amazing too. Sadly it proved so yummy that I missed out on a piece as it disappeared by the time I got back to the pub each day! Perhaps next time because I will definitely be visiting again soon! Staff very accommodating and helpful especially when I woke to a winter wonderland of snow had fallen overnight. Thankyou for the bacon butties you made after the chef couldn’t get to the inn as we were snowed in.
