Had a really lovely night's stay. The bed was really comfy, the room was clean and well equipped, the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was good pub food with massive portions and very reasonable. Breakfast was delicious. The hotel is peaceful and in a lovely setting right opposite a beautiful old church.

Friendly welcome on arrival and was actually shown to the room. Lovely and clean with refreshments and bottled water. Food was excellent both dinner and breakfast. Would definitely book again

The staff were very welcoming and helpful on arrival. The room was comfortable, clean and we slept very well. The spa was nice to relax in and worth paying the extra £20 per person for as you could use it all day. Breakfast was freshly cooked and they had gluten free toast ands croissants and the restaurant food was delicious with a good choice of gluten free options.

We were very happy with our stay . Beautiful hotel in an amazing location

The rooms are excellent. Lovely and clean. Food in the restaurant is nothing short of amazing. I can recommend the steak and kidney pudding. Best I have ever tasted

The staff and ambience of the hotel were lovely and we were sad that we couldn't stay longer.

Better than expected. Don’t write off these hotels. Way nicer than many upmarket properties out there.

Lovely, spacious and comfortable room with en suite bathroom. Spotlessly clean. Friendly and helpful staff. Plenty of parking spaces. Excellent location for exploring the area. Easy, short journey into Durham city.

lovely hotel, good food and a wonderful location. Woods just beyond the car park. DIdn't like the Internet connection though. It looked like I risked getting spam forever.

Excellent service and great location

Fantastic, authentic castle with such history and higgledy piggledy corridors. It was our anniversary and we were welcomed with an anniversary card which was a nice touch. The staff were excellent. We only had breakfast which was delicious and staff were efficient and friendly. The food in the library looked good. We had a courtyard room and were very happy with it. If you're expecting modern, corporate decor it might not be for you but we liked it and so nice to stay in a castle with character....

Diddn't use parking or spa but hotel was very convenient for the city centre. Dining room a bit cold. Excellent choice at breakfast and evening meals tasty.

Our stay at Walworth Castle Hotel was truly memorable, not just because of the stunning setting, but thanks to the incredible staff who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Adrian, part of the breakfast team at the 1189 Kitchen & Bar, was friendly, attentive, and made sure we started each morning with a smile. The service was excellent, and his warm demeanor really stood out. A special thank you to Mary at reception, who took the time—despite it being a busy period—to personally show...

Had a great stay here, spacious bedroom overlooking the countryside in a quiet location. Enjoyed the food and great atmosphere in the pub.

Nice place, very welcoming. Local pubs and good location. Very clean and modern.

Friendly and helpful at check in and throughout stay. Easy parking. Handy to have on-site gym & spa short walk from the hotel. Clean rooms with comfortable beds. Shower room recently renovated to high standard.
