Playing board games by the fireplace in the evenings was a lovely touch. It’s only a ten minute drive into Oban, burger e high away that it’s peaceful. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back. "This is possibly the most charming hotels and place I can remember staying. It’s an old building in a harsh Scottish environment and that is part of its charm. If you want pristine decoration it’s not for you. If you want excellent hospitality, fantastic staff and walls full of the owner’s original art, go. Walk the Crinan trail - the view from the viewpoint is one of the best on a clear day (it is a steep walk though). A genuine Scottish gem."

"Hands down my favorite hotel during my trip. On the day of my check-in, I made dinner reservations and unfortunately I ran into car trouble so I was going to miss dinner hours by 20 minutes. Immediately when I got to check in, they offered to make me a plate even though the kitchen was closed. 10/10 hotel! I’ll be visiting again"

"We had an early ferry to Islay the next morning, and the staff were so thoughtful to prepare our breakfast ahead of time and leave it at the front desk. Great service and nice, comfortable room. The hotel is also very close to the ferry terminal — only about a 10-minute drive, which was very convenient."
