It’s an old building in a harsh Scottish environment and that is part of its charm. If you want pristine decoration it’s not for you. If you want excellent hospitality, fantastic staff and walls full of the owner’s original art, go. Walk the Crinan trail - the view from the viewpoint is one of the best on a clear day (it is a steep walk though). We had great room with a sea view. The hotel.is adorned with the most breathtaking art. All the staff were excellent, they made us feel so welcome and were very attentive throughout our stay. I should imagine in the depths of winter the single glazing could be a bit "iffy". The vehicular access is "interesting" better to travel by boat!
