"Great location to the ferry - very dog friendly - staff very helpful - spa facilities excellent - food good - could provide a separate table from restaurant for those with dogs - eating breakfast and evening meal sitting on a sofa not very comfortable. We stayed at Kingsmill Hotel Inverness and they provided a table away from restaurant and bar - so much more comfortable eating at a table rather than being crunched up on a low sofa or chairs."

"I have to rate this property a 1 star due to fraudulant charge to my credit card. Despite having prepaid for my hotel stay through expedia, the hotel charged my card for two two zero pounds. I did not incur any incidentals so there is no justification for any charge, nor was I informed at checkout that they had used my card details to make the charge otherwise we could have corrected it then and there. I contacted the hotel by email - no response. I tried contacting them multiple times by phone over the course of 3 hours today and no answer. I therefore had to go to the next step and contact my credit card company to issue a chargeback for that two two zero pounds charge reporting it as fraud. It's a shame - i've stayed at this property multiple times as I travel to Oban twice a year for work. I tried resolving with the hotel directly - so the best I can say at this point is... I tried."

"Room was comfortable even though I had the compact room. Totally adequate. .Toilet rim was a little dirty but likely a small miss by cleaning staff. Small shower stall but great shower! Very convenient location. Had parking which is a great feature given its very central location. Great bar too. Would stay again."

"My wife and I had a decent stay at the Royal Marine, though it was a bit of a mixed bag. The building looks magnificent, and although a little tired, has fantastic potential with some TLC. Our room was spotless, and we enjoyed paying extra for the sea view; watching the ferry terminal activity was actually quite relaxing. However, the hotel is feeling a little run-down and in need of some modernising. We also found the breakfast disappointing, which let the experience down. Whilst we enjoyed our visit to Dunoon, I doubt we'll be rushing back anytime soon."

"The Guest house was good value with well stocked kitchen. My room was of a good condition and layout. The only issue I had was my shared bathroom was down one level requiring me to lick my room each time I used it. Overall great location, reasonable price, excellent staff."

"Best place we stayed in the UK. My husband and I stayed at over half a dozen hotels on our trip to the UK this one was by far the most enchanting stay. Our room was something out of a storybook floor to celling drapes enclosed picturesque windows of stunning Scotlan veiws. The Loch"

"Really enjoyed our stay at The Grey Gull Hotel. The hotel is a little dated in places, but our room was clean and spacious with a nicely renovated bathroom. Staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, including with our dog. Food was tasty and reasonably priced too. Great value for money and we’d stay again."
