Arrived early Saturday for a weekend in Rio before business in Sao Paulo.
Hotel staff let me check in a little earlier, and then helped me book half day trip to Sugarloaf. Very easy and convenient with hotel pickup and drop-off after.
The staff also helped me book a city tour on Sunday morning to Christ Statue and other stops in city center.
With their help from the nice and knowledgeable staff I managed to get the most of my short time in Rio.

Right on Copacabana beach, the Arena offers you a breathtaking view over the beach. If you prefer Ipanema, it would take just …More
After spending a month in South America, Rio was out last stop. The Porto Bay Rio Internacional Hotel was well located, we enjoyed a magnificent view of the beach from our room. Staff were very friendly and helpful when booking taxis to the airport and a tour of the Favelas. The buffet breakfast was beautiful and we enjoyed the atmosphere of the roof top pool, terrace and bar. The suite was spacious and worth the extra cost.
This hotel main feature is location, location. Can't get any closer to beautiful Copacabana Beach. Included breakfasts were fine with many selections. Lobby and rooms updated to look modern but issues with infrastructure needs attention. Elevator here, toilet there, electronic door keys and little things like that need to be next on list for upgrades. This hotel definitely passes the grade and should be considered if in the price range you are looking for.
The apartment was huge, and for what you pay is decent. Is about a 3 star hotel and the staff are wonderful just be mindful that they can't all speak but you're in Brazil so to be expected.
Three streets back from the beach and breakfast is quite good although the eggs are a little cold.
We stayed for 5 days after the World Cup and overall enjoyed our stay.
Staff was excellent and helpful, breakfast was pretty good. Hotel itself is just OK and rooms are plain and lack power outlets but still pretty decent hotel. We'd stay again.
This famous beach is also the widest beach in Rio. Throngs of bikini- and Speedo-clad locals and tourists take in the sun, as well as a round of beach soccer and volleyball. Copacabana Beach is a popular venue for concerts and a spectacular New Year’s Eve celebration where partiers wear white for good luck. The glitzy shops and cafés along Avenida Atlântica provide a welcome respite from the heat.
